St. Francis School
Parent Service Organization
Who are we?
All parents and guardians of children who attend St. Francis are members of the P. S. O. It is headed by an executive committee consisting of a president, vice president, treasurer and secretary. Executive committee members are elected for 2 year terms. The principal of the school also serves on the executive committee as do the chairpersons of the various committees.
The current P. S. O. officers are:
Rachel Engstrom – President
Barbara Lobdell – Vice President
Tim Ryor – Treasurer
Ivonne Pflaum – Secretary
What does the P. S. O. do?
We are a service organization established to serve the needs of the school. To do this there are several roles we play at St. Francis. One of our primary functions is to hold fund-raisers. With the money we raise we help to fund cultural programs, classroom materials, extracurricular activities, curriculum enhancement, and scholarships which could not otherwise be afforded. A second vital role the P. S. O. plays at St. Francis is to build connections with parents, the school, the parish and the community at large. To accomplish this the P. S. O. sponsors family fun nights, father/daughter dances, parish dinners and breakfasts and summer play dates, just to name a few. Because the completion of share hours is so important to the success of our school, the P. S. O. is also responsible for monitoring and tracking hours.
What do I do if I have a suggestion or idea for the P.
S. O.?
The P. S. O. welcomes and encourages parents to share their ideas on how we can better serve our children’s school. A suggestion box is located in the school office, and ideas will be reviewed monthly.
How do I participate?
There are several ways you can be involved. The easiest is to fill in the volunteer form available in the school office. As events and activities come up you will be contacted by someone on the committee. You can also watch the weekly newsletter for requests for volunteers for upcoming events.
For more detailed information about St. Francis’ P. S. O., a copy of the bylaws is available in the school office.
