"I think that the Christian family, the family, marriage, has never been attacked as it is now. Directly attacked or assaulted. The preparation for marriage has to come from very far. Supporting couples. Supporting, but always hand in hand and preparing them. Letting them know what they are going to do. Many do not know what they are doing and they marry without knowing what it means.”
As Church leaders meet at the Vatican through Oct. 19 for the Extraordinary Synod of Bishops to discuss how the Church can strengthen marriage and family, couples share their own experiences of forming faithful families.
